Burgers, tacos, sizzling slices of pizza, Asian delicacies, real German hot-dogs, gourmet sandwiches, gelato, pancakes, authentic kebabs or delicious gyros; we crave for them all, day and night and no matter how hard we try to keep our insatiability in touch, we just won’t refuse one of these mouth-watering snacks.
We absolutely loathe the fact that sometimes we just want to indulge in the middle of the night, after a hard day of work or after one drink too many when all the restaurants are closed.
Now this is the unluckiest day of your life! How can you fulfill that craving, how can you temper that hunger in a proper way? (Please note that nibbling on leftovers beside the sink is not what we have in mind!)
So how can you have a proper snack in the middle of the night? Well, the answer is easy; since the “it’s the ice-cream man!” time the mobile food industry has evolved thoroughly.
Food on the go is no longer a miracle in this versatile world of epicurean delights. Restaurants aren’t the only ones that fit the standards of delicious food and definitely not the only ones that can make up a gourmet menu.
Food trucks have become more and more popular due to their efficiency and quirkiness; after all who wouldn’t want a quick bite, late at night without having to wait for a long time?
Taking after the Asian concept of street food that you can basically encounter in most Asian countries, these foodie trucks have started conquering the western world rapidly.
Here’s our list of trucks with delicious food that you can’t miss:
1. Maximus Minimus
Seattle based food truck that looks like a, (excuse us!) giant pig, brings homemade sandwiches topped with generous slices of bacon. They look delicious and rich in gourmet ingredients!
2. Skillet
Burgers and poutine always on the move, fine ingredients nicely selected and chicken covered in fresh jalapenos and aioli sauce – sounds divine and even more divine when you think about their on-going location. The Skillet is a vintage trailer, created by a passionate chef who is willing to bring innovation to the culinary world. Try their truck and restaurants from Seattle, Oregon.
3. Del Popolo
Sounds so Italian! Well, it is (in a way). The famous truck is baking beautiful pizza in a Naples oven…in San Francisco. The menu is offering the classic Margherita, but also unique recipes prepared by the “Popolo” team itself.
4. The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck
It started off as an experiment, but ended up as a phenomenon in the pop culture of the U.S. It is now recognized throughout the country as one of the best stalls that sells premium ice cream, sundaes, floats, etc. They are super famous and appreciated for their exotic toppings and obviously quaint truck.
5. The Grilled Cheese Truck
Lovers of cheese out there know exactly what we’re talking about. We’re talking about comfort sandwiches topped with soft, melted or grilled cheese. Creative and delicious, these serious sandwiches will only make your day better! Try them if you get the chance to visit Hollywood.
